1. What is GameConnect?

GameConnect is a 3D virtual online community of 18 years of age and up from around the globe where you can do many things together such as chat, listen to music, play games, design rooms, check out real-world pictures and video clips, etc.

2. Is GameConnect a MMOPRG?

Yes and no. While the GameConnect interface and display are similar to massively multiplayer online role-playing games (or MMORPGs), there are two main differences:

a. Creativity: GameConnect provides near unlimited freedom to its Residents. This world is whatever you make it, and your experience is what you want out of it. If you want to hang out with your friends in Hawaii, or Russia, you can. If you want instant message - you can. If you want to buy a song you heard through our free streaming player, you can. If you want to design your room, you can. It’s all up to you.

b. Membership: Instead of paying a monthly subscription fee the GameConnect standard membership is FREE! You only pay when you choose to buy something (a music track, a casual game tournament, etc).

3. Who will I meet there? And what is it really like?

GameConnect has just launched! You will meet a community mixed with all types of members. Invite your friends to become members. You have the ability to shape GameConnect – by choosing your own character, your own social groups, and entertainment.

5. Can I convert real money into GameConnect currency?

Yes. GameConnect carries U.S Dollars and we offer several different options to upload money to your ewallet. Some items, such as music is paid with U.S Dollars and other items, such as furniture to your rooms, is paid with the GameConnect currency. It is very easy to convert U.S Dollars to GameConnect currency (SG$) and for $1 U.S Dollar, you get 100 GameConnect Dollars (SG$).By participating in different game tournaments, you can win both U.S Dollars and GameConnect Dollars(SG$).

6. What computer do I need for GameConnect?

GameConnect runs on most recent-generation PCs -- see the System Requirements to see if your computer is capable of running GameConnect.

7. Can I try GameConnect for free before I buy?

Standard membership of GameConnect is actually FREE! All you have to do is go to www.GameConnect.com, and click on the 'Register' button.

8. Do I have to convert money to play games or listen to music? What if I run out of it?

You can buy music and play games without conversion. You earn in-world money (SG$) by winning games or selling items. You can always convert U.S. Dollars to SG$ (1 US$=100 SG$). You can always earn more currency by challenging other players to various casual games.

9. Do I have to create objects to be a part of GameConnect

Not at all. New objects are being added all the time and you don't have to create objects, you can instead enjoy designing your room, adding personal accessories to your avatar and just have fun!

10. How do I find my way around GameConnect?

The Virtual World of GameConnect has a unique design, similar to our planet. We are very proud over this and we have many activities with the theme 'Save the planet!'. To move around, you can use a small 'radar map'. It shows the complete virtual world and it shows you in red, and other avatars in green. By clicking on white dots on the map, you get transported to that exact position.

11. Are there games in GameConnect for me to play?

There are several casual games currently in GameConnect, and there will always be new games added. Most games are made to challenge another player in a tournament. When you challenge another player you can choose how much to challenge them either in US$ or SG$. Casual Games are simple, fun and fast.

12. Can I start my own business?

Yes, we are about to launch a 'My shop' area in your apartment where you can sell many in-world items to anyone that visits your place.

13. Are there any ongoing cost of having land?

Land is common space. However you can expand your apartment for a fee and you can also buy your own island or place your apartment hovering in the air with best view in the planet.

16. What are GameConnect's Hours of Operation?

GameConnect is open 24 hours a day. We have often trained sponsors in the virtual world that can help you with the different features.
